That Time Of Year
Can you believe we’re half way through December 2021 already? This year has been one of the strangest years ever. Covid-19 and its various strains has affected every country in the world. People have suffered through tragic losses, sickness, lockdowns, and forced time separated from family and friends. The online world, with all its benefits, has never been more important.
Thanks to the power of the internet, families and friends could at least talk or have video chats, thanks to programs such as Zoom, Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp and more. It made being apart a little more bearable.
What’s next? Now families are preparing for Christmas and other celebrations that happen at this time of year. You don’t need to be a Christian or religious to celebrate Christmas. I’m a non-practicing Jew, for example; yet I know people celebrate, and when I was a kid, I loved presents, like most kids.
Not everyone has time off. Retail stores work around the clock to provide you with toys, gifts, food and drink to enjoy with loved ones. Hotels and bottle shops stay open as long as possible so you can stock up on alcohol. I’m sure people will have a few extra drinks this year.
Taxi drivers are available 24/7 to get you safely to and from your parties so you don’t have to drink and drive. There are so many people working to make your time extra special.
As for me, well, I don’t celebrate Christmas and have already had a birthday celebration with my family. This means I’m available for editing and writing work every day. Many other people will take time off from writing and editing tasks so feel free to give me some of your overflow so you can spend time with your families. I always use this time of year to pick up extra cash. So, if you or your company needs a reliable editor and/or writer, I’m available here with some time slots free for extra work.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients for their business during the last 12 months. I want to wish all of my family members, wherever in the world you are, lots of good times spent with your immediate and extended families. I wish all my friends a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, wherever in the world you are.
I know there are lots of time differences so even when it’s 26th December here in Australia, many of my American friends, and those in other countries, are just waking to Christmas Day.
So, here’s my wish. That you all enjoy what’s left of 2021 and may 2022 bring nothing but good news, good health, prosperity, long life and freedom from further restrictions.
